Carrier launches 20 new routes in this year’s winter program
Norwegian is launching an additional 20 new routes in this year’s winter program. This includes a stronger presence in Sweden, Denmark and Finland as well as at different airports in Norway. At the same time a new venture in Germany will appear with 11 new routes from Hamburg, Cologne and Munich to Spanish destinations.
In what Norwegian describes as a “significant increase in Sweden and Denmark”, the carrier will operate more flights to Spanish destinations. From Stockholm it will raise its number of flights to Malaga from five to six, to Las Palmas from four to five, Alicante from four to five and Tenerife from two to three. From Gothenburg the number of weekly flights to Tenerife will increase from one to two.
From Copenhagen, the number of weekly flights to Malaga will rise from eight to nine, while Aalborg-Alicante continues from the summer program.
Norwegian is beginning a “huge commitment to Germany” – what it calls a “strategy of international expansion” – by opening 11 new routes to several destinations in Spain. From Hamburg, it will fly direct to Alicante (three weekly), Malaga (three weekly), Las Palmas (twice weekly) and Tenerife (twice weekly); from Cologne to Alicante (twice weekly), Malaga (three weekly), Las Palmas (twice weekly) and Tenerife (twice a week); from Munich to Alicante (twice a week), Malaga (twice a week) and Tenerife (twice a week).
From Norway, the company will launch direct flights to Tenerife from Trondheim, Bergen and Rygge, while Tromsø-Alicante will continue in the winter season.
Norwegian says that the number of its passengers is growing in the Finnish market. In winter, Finns will be able to fly direct from both Oulu and Turku to Tenerife and Alicante. It will also increase its presence in Helsinki to several Spanish destinations. Tenerife increases from two to three weekly departures, Alicante from two to four, Malaga from four to six, and Las Palmas from three to four.
Norwegian will launch another new route from London Gatwick, to Fuerteventura.
