Carrier posts pre-tax profit of €84 million for the year
This morning Norwegian reported its fourth quarter and full-year results for 2012, posting a pre-tax profit of 623 MNOK (€84 million), an improvement of 457 MNOK compared to previous year. The airline characterised last year as having “solid traffic growth and international expansion with the launch of several new routes and the establishment of new operational bases”. Norwegian took delivery of 13 new aircraft in 2012.
The company’s total fourth-quarter revenues were 3.1BNOK, up 22% compared with the same quarter the previous year. Earnings before taxes stood at 23 MNOK and the airline carried 4.37 million passengers during the quarter, an increase of 10%.
Total 2012 revenue was 12.9 BNOK, up 22%. Norwegian carried 17.7 million passengers in 2012, up 2 million (13%) compared to 2011. Load factor remained at 79%.
