Two low-cost carriers connect their networks
Norwegian revealed this morning that it is partnering with easyJet on a new ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ platform, allowing passengers to connect a Norwegian long-haul flight with an easyJet short-haul flight in a single booking.
Launched today, Worldwide by easyJet allows passengers to connect their flight with partner airline flights, including Norwegian’s network of long-haul flights to the US, Asia and South America.
The service will initially focus on routes at London Gatwick, using the airport’s ‘Gatwick Connects’ product. The LCC then expects it to expand to other airports in Europe, including those where Norwegian flies long-haul routes from, such as Paris Charles De Gaulle and Barcelona.
Norwegian’s long-haul network now includes more than 55 routes. From Gatwick, it offers direct long-haul flights to 13 destinations – eleven US cities plus Singapore and Buenos Aires.
“We already see a large number of passengers making connections between Norwegian’s own long-haul and short-haul networks and we welcome initiatives like Worldwide by easyJet that give customers even more opportunities for affordable transfers between flights,” said Norwegian CCO Thomas Ramdahl.
