Norway enthusiast plans epic cycle trip

Football fan will pedal south from Kirkenes Stadion

A keen member of the travel trade is taking up the challenge of cycling the length of Norway this summer, in an effort to raise awareness for the Norwegian Red Cross, Røde Kors.

Steve Hall, who is British, is the owner of ThisIsSpain.info, which mainly places products or services in the expat markets in Spain. But he also has a strong allegiance to Norway and runs two websites about both the country and its capital – www.thisisnorway.info and www.thisisoslo.info.

A lifelong football enthusiast, he will start from Kirkenes Stadion close to the Russian border on June 14 and pedal to the clubs in the Oslo area via places like Bodø, Trondheim, Molde, Aalesund, Sogndal, Brann, Haugesund, Stavanger, Kristiansand and Skien. He is looking for 500 fans to sponsor a 10km stretch that will be dedicated to their favourite football team.

The Brit is also setting himself another challenge – to learn to speak conversational Norwegian by the end of the journey.
