Bacon back in Nordic Choice hotels after big uproar
The Nordic Choice Hotel Group has made a big U-turn by reintroducing bacon and sausage at its hotels, a week after banning all processed meat.
The chain said it “had listened to the response of guests and was restoring bacon and sausages to the breakfast buffet menu.”
Petter Stordalen, the owner of the company, confirmed on Twitter that bacon was coming back – by popular demand.
“In the hotel industry, the guest is the boss,” he wrote. “They have spoken and Comfort Hotels is bring bacon back to the menu. A bold attempt by the rebellious little brother.”
Hotel spokeswoman Camilla Bergman explained that the attempt to ban bacon shows that the chain is a “small hotel rebel who wants to challenge the traditional”.
She added, “Though many praised us for the measure, the visitors’ feedback clearly emphasised that they still wanted bacon. Therefore we are bringing back the bacon.”
However, Nordic Choice Hotel Group has managed to introduce a new, green, healthy menu at its properties across Scandinavia.
