Report rates Stockholm, Oslo and Bergen highly
The latest passenger traffic results issued by the European airport trade body ACI Europe put airports in Scandinavia among the biggest growers.
The highest increases in passenger traffic for Group 2 airports comparing April 2013 with April 2012 were: Istanbul SAW (+16.1%), St Petersburg (+13.3%), Berlin TXL (+13.2%), Oslo (+12.1%) and Stockholm ARN (+5.0%).
Bergen, meanwhile led the Group 3 airports with 20.5% growth, followed by Ankara, Izmir, Alicante and Warsaw.
By contrast, overall passenger traffic growth at Europe’s airports remained almost flat, with an increase of just 0.6% compared to the previous April. EU airports actually reported a decrease averaging 1.8%, while passenger traffic at non-EU airports within Europe reported an average increase of 10.1%.
The Group 1 airport leaders for passenger growth over the last year are Istanbul IST (+15.8%), Moscow SVO (+13.8%), Antalya (+10.8%), Moscow DME (+6.7%) and Amsterdam (+3.3%).
