LH to launch first Munich route to Central America

New route between Munich and Mexico City to start next summer

Lufthansa has announced that it is launching a new service from Munich to Mexico City next summer – its first between the Bavarian capital and Central America. The new route will be operated from 26 March 2012 by an Airbus A340-600. From that date, Mexico City will be served five times a week from Munich, supplementing the daily flights already operated by Lufthansa from Frankfurt.
In economic terms in particular, the airline said, Mexico is gaining in importance for the Bavarian market. Mexico City has a population of 30 million, making it one of world’s largest metropolitan areas.

By the traditional definition there are only 7 continents, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. By this traditional definition Central America does not exist and is included in North America. So by this traditional view, the editor is wrong.
And I don't believe European to be so ignorant. Most have probably heard of the North American Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA which consists of Canada, USA and Mexico showing that by American standards Mexico is included in North America.

One can only assume by that rather ridiculous reply by "Editor" that FACTS doesn´t have any importance to Lufthansa. It doesn´t matter one iota what Lufthansa or "most Europeans" (are we REALLY that uneducated?) consider things to be. You are still wrong

Mexico is considered by Lufthansa, and most Europeans, to be part of Central America. North America refers to the US and Canada. But it's true that convenient geopolitical labels are often inappropriate.

Mexico does not belong to Central America. It is part of North America (geopraphically), while culturally it belongs to Latin America.

Being a travel magazine you should know this.
