Aiming to accelerate the meetings industry business development in Lithuania and the Baltic Sea region, Vilnius Convention Bureau is taking the initiative to combine regional forces by launching the first regional exhibition for meetings, events and incentives. It will take place on 13-14 February 2013 at the LITEXPO exhibition centre in Vilnius, Lithuania. Paul Kennedy MBE, has been appointed as the event's strategic advisor. Besides Lithuania, six other countries in the region (Sweden, Finland, Russia, Latvia, Estonia and Poland) will showcase their meeting products and services.
The exhibition, called CONVENE, will be annual two-day event accommodating more than 120 fully hosted senior buyers from across Europe. Up to 100 exhibitors will include convention bureaus, hotels, conference centres, special venues, DMCs, PCOs and specialist suppliers. The event will also be supported by a major professional education program and a series of high quality business networking events. CONVENE will offer a number of fam trips to Lithuania and neighbouring destinations that wish to host the international buyers attending the event.
