Access to the Vatican Museums, such as the Sistine Chapel, is getting increasingly squeezed with 5 million people visiting them in 2011 and tourists trying to get in by the busload. Tour groups regularly lose members on the way round. Virtually all visitors would agree – wouldn’t it be great to view the artistic and architectural masterpieces in small groups with no one else around?
The tour operator Dark Rome is offering private, 30-minute tours of the chapel in groups of no more than 10 people. It is part of a three-hour VIP Vatican and Private Sistine Chapel tour, which also includes exclusive access to private rooms containing Vatican treasures normally hidden from public view.
