SWISS is further expanding the inflight entertainment for its youngest passengers. Just in time for the summer holiday season, the airline is introducing a new Logbook that offers a host of information about flying, colouring opportunities and a feature for the young owner to keep a record of every flight they take and have it signed by the captain.
There will also be special Logbook competitions with small prizes to win. In addition to the new Logbook, SWISS’s on-board fun for children includes an extensive range of cartoons, kids’ movies and their own music channel on its inflight entertainment system, which is available on all long-haul flights, and special meals for children and babies, too.
With the summer holiday season just about to begin, SWISS has further enhanced the fun and entertainment it provides on board for its youngest guests. In addition to its traditional giveaways such as puzzles, colouring books and sticker sets, the airline will be issuing a new Logbook to young passengers aged between 3 and 10 from Monday 14 July. As well as various games and colour-it-in pages, the new SWISS Logbook contains a map of Switzerland and a map showing SWISS’s destinations around the world which both show the locations of particular attractions for children. And a further feature at the back of the Logbook enables the young traveller to keep a record of all their SWISS flights and have each flight entry signed by the captain. SWISS’s young Logbook owners will also be able to enter competitions and win small prizes. The new SWISS Logbook has been developed in collaboration with the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, the Kiditec company and Zurich and Geneva airports, which are also featured in it.
Special inflight entertainment plus child’s and baby meals
SWISS’s inflight entertainment system, which is available on all long-haul services, offers 15 movies, cartoons and various computer games for children, along with six TV shows for varying age groups. These are supplemented by numerous CDs and a dedicated “SWISS KIDS” music channel. The children’s entertainment in Economy Class is just as extensive as in Business. On long-haul flights children aged between 2 and 9 are automatically served a child’s meal, which is presented together with a goody bag and a sweet surprise. Special child’s meals can also be pre-ordered for young flyers aged between 10 and 12. And for its youngest travellers under 2, SWISS provides special baby food of puréed vegetables or fruit. These special meals can be ordered free of charge up to 48 hours before departure when making the flight reservation, by calling the SWISS Service Center or via a travel agent.
