Cabin crew and ground handling strike in one day
SAS’s Danish cabin crew have been on strike for over four hours this afternoon, resulting in continuing long delays and flight cancellations. SAS traffic was affected by a three-hour walkout on Tuesday morning among SAS Ground Handling employees. Once the first strike ended, the other began.
No SAS flights with the Danish staff were able to fly from Copenhagen during four hours. However, flights with crews from bases in Oslo and Stockholm as well as planes operated by other companies, such as Cimber and Jet Time, were not affected.
The Danish cabin crew went on strike for a “professional meeting”, as the union Cabin Attendants Union had informed them of negotiations with SAS on employment terms for around 140 hostesses and stewards from SAS to be taken to new contracts with Cimber.
