All-inclusive resorts keep up with consumer trends
The nature of all-inclusive hotels, with all-you-can-eat buffet meals and lots to drink, is changing, with updated and locally sourced food and more spacious rooms.
All-Inclusive, or AI, has been around since the 1950s and remains popular today, but the business model behind the concept is evolving.
Now food is likely to be locally sourced and sustainable, and cocktails are made with quality alcohol brands. Larger guest rooms have high-end furnishings and there are spas and more sophisticated entertainment.
At the upper end of the market, AMResorts for example offers gourmet dining, premium drinks, elegant rooms, beautiful beaches and high-end spa facilities.
Playa Hotels and Resorts, meanwhile, has partnered with Hyatt, so that at Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva properties guests stay in swim-up suites and enjoy authentic dining and entertainment.
Other reputable hotel brands and companies to take advantage of the trend include Wyndham Hotel Group’s Viva Wyndham Resorts, Marriott and Hilton.
