Flight diverted in emergency after cabin crew fall ill
A US Airways flight from Venice to Philadelphia had to be diverted to Dublin in an emergency after several cabin crew suddenly became ill.
The plane, which had 181 passengers and 12 crew on board, was forced to land in Dublin on Saturday afternoon after a number of cabin crew suffered nausea, dizziness and watery eyes.
The flight was met by airport emergency services and paramedics when it landed. Nine people were reportedly taken to Beaumont Hospital in the Irish capital for observation. The airline later said that none of the passengers or the pilots had fallen ill.
A spokesperson for the Dublin Airport Authority told the BBC that the flight had been cancelled as a result of what had happened. The cause of the illness remains unclear.
