Sixty-day round-the-world voyage to go via Europe
MSC Cruises has revealed plans to sail to China, on the newly renovated MSC Lirica, which will call in Shanghai on May 1, 2016. It will be MSC’s first ever call in China and will follow a 60-day round-the-world voyage via Europe, departing March 3 from Rio de Janeiro.
Before setting sail, the line said that MSC Lirica would undergo a total renovation and enlargement under the Renaissance Programme, as part of the company’s overhaul project due to be completed in November this year.
“We are delighted to once more be able to offer our guests a brand new itinerary – from Brazil to China via Europe – which offers the chance to visit some of the most appealing places on earth, across a huge array of people and cultures,” said Gianni Onorato, MSC Cruises’ chief executive.
The announcement follows news earlier this month that MSC would be the first global cruise line to operate voyages out of Cuba. From December, it will offer 16 cruises aboard MSC Opera, sailing out of Havana.
