Storhogna Högfjällshotell & Spa expands with sports and events house
Storhogna Högfjällshotell & Spa near Vemdalen, central Sweden, is expanding by building a “sports and events house”, which it hopes will help it to attract more groups – all year round.
The new, wooden 450-square-metre Sport & Event House, with sun terrace and big windows facing the mountain scenery, is due to open in mid-November, at the foot of the hill below the hotel.
“We are noticing more international interest, and at the same time we are constantly striving to run a year-round business,” says Anders Treschow, the hotel’s chairman and co-owner. “Today the hotel is open 10 months a year and closed during June and July. The Sport & Event House will enable larger arrangements and a wide range of applications – regardless of the season.”
Storhogna Högfjällshotell & Spa has long been focusing on long-distance and downhill skiing and other winter sports in the area, while out of season it is a base for trails and hiking. The new Sport & Event House will have ski hire, a shop and café as well as meeting space.
