Universal Orlando gives more information on attraction
Universal Orlando has revealed more details about the Hogwarts Express, which will open at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter this summer at Universal Studios Florida.
The hotly anticipated attraction will allow visitors to ride between the themed areas of London and Hogsmeade on the iconic train. Guests will pass through the brick wall at King’s Cross Station to arrive at platform 9 ¾, just as they do in the Harry Potter books and films.
The locomotive will pull into the station, billowing steam, while a whistle beckons people to climb aboard. While on board, passengers will journey through the British countryside, encountering Harry Potter characters.
They will see Hagrid on his flying motorbike, Buckbeak the Hippogriff swooping over the black lake, the Weasley twins on brooms and the Knight Bus swerving through London traffic. There will be also sinister Dementors to contend with.
The journeys to and from Hogsmeade will be two different experiences, and the ride will last for around six minutes.
Universal’s creative team has been working closely with Warner Brothers and the production team from the Harry Potter films to create an experience for families that stays true to the original story.
