Meeting Point International and its subsidiaries had several announcements and substantial meetings during the 37th World Travel Market that took place in London between 6 and 8 November 2017.

One of the highlights during the exhibition is the meeting that emphasized on relaunching Lebanon as a lifestyle and roundtrip, year-round destination and was attended by His Excellency Avedis Guidanian, Lebanon Minister of Tourism and Mr. Georges Freiha, Head of Marketing of Lebanon tourism along with FTI Group Managing Directors, Dietmar Gunz and Roula Jouny, as well as, Khaled Jouni, CEO Meeting Point International.
“This project has been on our agenda for a while and after talks with several tour operators from different markets including Slovakia, Austria, Czech, the UK and other European markets who conceded about the potential of the destination, we have decided to revive program Lebanon.”, explained Khaled Jouni, CEO Meeting Point International. He continued, “After our meeting with His Excellency who gave us his full support to develop the plan and pursue this opportunity, I’m thrilled about reviving this destination and I’m certain that this mild weather, year-round, Mediterranean country will prosper to be the sought after destination.”
Meeting Point Lebanon, based in Beirut, will take the lead in attracting tour operators to launch Lebanon to the European market.
“A country of 6 million inhabitants, Lebanon offers guests opulent history, culture, vast beaches, majestic mountains, vibrant night life and a renowned cuisine to indulge the senses. Adding this destination to FTI Touristik program makes Lebanon more accessible to the German speaking market and exposes the country to new potential travelers. With such an initiative, we’re delighted to be major contributors to boosting tourism in Lebanon.”, said Roula Jouny, CCO FTI Group.
This announcements comes days after FTI Group and Meeting Points Emirates welcomed their first arrivals from Leipzig to Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai that launched the first and only charter that will fly from the German speaking market to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) 365 days of the year, in all seasons regardless of seasonality.
The connections to Al Maktoum Airport (DWC) complements FTI Group’s current offering with Emirates Airlines and are carried by Condor on a Boeing B757-300 aircraft and offer value-for-money packages that include airline tickets of economy or premium seats and six or 13-night hotel stays. With the combined routing FTI GROUP now covers the entire German speaking market with 77 non-stop weekly flights to Dubai and access from 13 airports.
Moreover, Meeting Point International is determined to invest further in dynamic hotel rates to optimize products, building a 360 degrees approach to business partner’s needs, covering all aspects of DMC services, such as static and dynamic hotel rates, outstanding transportation services and exceptional excursions, led by a multi-lingual team and utilizing state-of-the-art travel technology.
“Although the region has its challenges, we as a group believe that touristic development of the MENA region is an important aspect of its social and economic wellbeing. As more people travel around the world, the understanding and appreciation of different cultural diversities is increasing. We as a group are doing all we can to support this process in the region.”, concluded Ms. Jouny.
