Strange incident takes place on Aer Lingus flight
A flight from Lisbon to Dublin had to be diverted to Cork when one of the passengers got agitated, injured two others on the plane, bit one of them, was forcibly restrained, then became sick and died.
Aer Lingus flight EI 485 had 168 passengers and six crew on board. The pilot told air traffic controllers about a passenger “running amok”.
Passengers helped crew members restrain the unruly passenger, a 24-year-old man, who some time later became unwell and fell unconscious. A doctor on board rushed to treat him but the man died.
The dead passenger is not believed to be Irish and may have been studying in Ireland. Irish police are investigating what could have caused the death.
