World Travel Awards 2013 Indian Ocean ceremony held
Air Mauritius, SriLankan Airlines, Hilton Hotels, Seychelles Tourism and Lux Resorts are among the bigger names to have emerged victorious at World Travel Awards 2013 Indian Ocean ceremony, held yesterday at the Paradise Island Resort&Spa, Maldives.
The industry’s elite, including chief executives and senior vice presidents of leading travel companies, ministers and tourist board chiefs, were at the island gala event. The World Travel Awards celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
Air Mauritius captured the Indian Oceans Leading Airline award; the Indian Oceans Leading New Hotel award went to Coco Prive Kuda Hithi Island; Indian Ocean’s Leading Resort was won by One&Only Reethi Rah; Leading Water Villa Resort and Most Romantic Resort went to Baros; and Leading Luxury Resort to Gili Lankanfushi.
Lets Go Maldives took Leading Luxury Tour Operator; and a new award for Outstanding Services to the Tourist Industry went to SriLankan Airlines.
