Lufthansa: Stable traffic figures in July

In July, the Passenger Airline Group was able to increase sales by 1.1 per cent year on year while keeping the passenger load factor at the previous year’s level (-0.1%). The pricing environment was stable compared with last year.

Lufthansa Passenger Airlines (incl. Germanwings) and SWISS achieved exactly the same passenger load factors as last year, with Lufthansa Passenger Airlines recording a slight increase in sales of 0.9 per cent and SWISS a more considerable increase of 3.3 per cent. Austrian Airlines, on the other hand, recorded a 1.1 per cent fall in sales, while capacity was slightly higher than last year at 0.8 per cent.

Sales and load factor in European traffic continued to develop positively (+1.2%; SLF +0.6 pts.). On American routes, the Passenger Airline Group was able to boost sales considerably (+4.2%) at almost stable load factors (-0.2 pts.). In the cargo business, sales were again up on the same month last year. Lufthansa Cargo improved sales by 1.2 per cent. The cargo load factor was 0.8 percentage points down on last year (68.3%).
