Miles & More to be its own company and subsidiary
The Supervisory Board at Lufthansa has approved further internal restructuring, this time related to the customer loyalty program Miles & More, which is Europe’s biggest with more than 25 million members.
The airline says that the bonus program with be its own company and that revenue and profit from it should grow at a constant level in the coming years.
The activities of Miles & More are to be bundled by moving and consolidating it in an independent company. Management and governance will be outsourced from Lufthansa to the new direct subsidiary Miles & More International GmbH. The inflight shopping subsidiary Lufthansa WorldShop will also be merged with Miles & More International.
Lufthansa shareholders will vote on the planned outsourcing at an upcoming Annual General Meeting on April 29.
