LH cabin crew will not strike for six weeks

This is likely time length for mediation process with Lufthansa

Lufthansa’s cabin crew will not strike for the coming six weeks, the UFO union representing them has promised. This is the estimated time length for the mediation process with the airline, due to start tomorrow. “It’s unrealistic to think mediation lasts less than six weeks,” union representative Nicoley Baublies said. If the talks fail, more strike action is possible, he added, but this is not on the radar at the moment.
As reported, Lufthansa has offered permanent contracts to some temporary cabin crew, bringing an end to a series of damaging strikes, at least temporarily. Baublies admits that this concession makes finding a solution a lot easier. An independent mediator should be agreed by both sides before the talks begin, with possible candidates reportedly including former German president Horst Koehler, SPD politician Franz Muentefehring and constitutional judge Hans-Juergen Papier.
