Obtains ‘A’ licence from UK CAA and can now offer its BAE 146-200 for charter and ACMI

Jota Aviation, the independently owned specialist UK air charter firm, is celebrating the arrival of its first jet aircraft.  The London Southend Airport, Essex based company has added the British Aerospace 146-200 regional jet to its charter fleet, having formally been awarded an A licensed  Aircraft Operator’s Certificate for the type by the UK Civil Aviation Authority on Friday, 10th October.   Jota is now offering the aircraft, which features a newly refurbished fresh interior with 95 leather seats to scheduled airlines, inclusive tour companies and corporates as well as air charter brokers looking for newly available capacity for music and sports group work, conference and incentive flights and other ad hoc activity.  Jota Aviation already has a close association with motorsports through its long established Jota Sport division.

“This a very exciting milestone in the four years of Jota Aviation,” commented Andy Green, Managing Director, who first introduced the aircraft in Jota’s orange and carbon branding to the workforce on 29th August.

Jota Aviation’s Commercial Manager Mike Sessions is now working to place the aircraft into the charter market.  “We already have a lot of interest,” he noted, highlighting the 146’s range of over 1,400 nms, generous cabin and its rugged, short field operating characteristics make it ideal for popular European leisure and business destinations.  It has been configured so that the centre seat of each treble seat row can turn into a table.   In readiness for revenue service some 15 flight and cabin crew, plus several administration personnel have been recruited.

The BAe 146, which is also London City Airport compatible, joins Jota Aviation’s growing charter fleet of Beechcraft King Airs.

King Air B200 added to the fleet

In related news, the company recently took delivery of its fourth Beechcraft King Air – an eight passenger B200 twin turboprop. The luxurious appointed all-leather interior configured in a four-seat club arrangement, offers complete comfort. With a range of 1,600 nm and the capability to land on very short runways, the King Air B200 is ideally suited to short trips within Europe or for those trying to reach more remote locations. The highly versatile King Air B200, which is available for charter immediately, will undoubtedly be a popular addition to the fleet.

Jota is the largest operator of the King Air 90 family in Europe, with aircraft deployed on cargo and passenger flights from London Southend, Liverpool and Leeds Bradford Airports.
