$25bn deal includes pilot training, airport operations
Airbus announced yesterday that it had signed agreements with Iran for 118 new aircraft, including 12 A380 superjumbos. The $25 billion (€22 billion) deals includes pilot training, airport operations and air traffic management.
Signed in Paris, the agreements cover 21 A320ceo planes, 24 A320neos, 27 A330ceos, 18 A330-900neos, 16 A350-1000s and 12 A380s, all for Iran Air.
The deals had been anticipated for weeks and come hot on the heels of the lifting of international sanctions on Iran earlier in January.
“Today’s announcement is the start of re-establishing our civil aviation sector into the envy of the region and along with partners like Airbus we’ll ensure the highest world standards,” Iran Air chairman and CEO Farhad Parvaresh said.
