Iceland Tours told to withdraw advertising

UK advertising watchdog criticises ads with lead-in price

Iceland Tours has been told to withdraw two sets of ads on posters and on the website icelandair.co.uk in the UK after the Advertising Standards Authority there followed up on a customer complaint.

The company advertised three-night breaks to the Golden Circle in Iceland “from £299”. But, when asked by the authority, it could not show that at least 10% of trips were available at the lead-in price.

It also advertised a three-night break city break with whale watching for the same lead-in price. But the authority said the ad failed to make it clear the deal was available only on selected departure dates.
