IAG converts 787 options into firm orders
International Airlines Group (IAG) has reached an agreement with Boeing over 18 Boeing 787 Dreamlanders for British Airways. They will replace Airways’ 747-400 aircraft between 2017 and 2021. Boeing has already 24 Boeing 787s on order for British Airways from 2007. The new aircrafts will be powered by the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines.
For Iberia IAG has reached agreement with Boeing to “secure commercial terms and delivery slots for a possible 787 order. Firm orders will only be made when Iberia has restructured and reduced its cost base and is in a position grow profitably,” IAG said in a statement.
The firming of the 18 787 options must be approved by IAG shareholders.
