IAG: Iberia and BA chairmen quit roles

High-level management shuffle takes place at group

International Airlines Group says that the non-executive chairmen of Iberia and British Airways would both resign. Antonio Vázquez and Martin Broughton, respectively, will be focusing on slightly different functions in a high-level management shuffle at the group.

Vázquez will be chairman of IAG, with Luis Gallego taking over as Iberia chairman and chief executive. Broughton will take on the role of deputy chairman and senior independent director of IAG, while BA chief executive Keith Williams will add chairmanship of the British carrier to his responsibilities.

Gallego and Williams will stand down from the IAG board. Both will be reporting to IAG Chief Executive Willie Walsh.
