Public keen to have free rooms and upgrades from variety of chains
Many experts are saying that hotel loyalty programs have become more popular than those for airlines. They’re generous and they’re easy to use. The public are keen to have them as they give free rooms and upgrades. Frequent flier programs tend not to give free flights so easily. But which is best?
Smarter Travel names InterContinental Hotel Group’s Priority Club Rewards as the editor’s pick in 2011 as points needed for free rooms are so easy to earn. Wyndham Rewards is a good choice for guests on a budget. The Frequent Traveler Awards chose Marriott for Program of The Year in both the Americas and Europe/Africa. Frequent traveller Peter Quinter, meanwhile, prefers Starwood’s program as it allows him to qualify for free rooms based either on points or stays.
