“We are pleased to celebrate our arrival into Volgograd as our Hampton by Hilton brand continues to grow its footprint in Europe. As we expand our portfolio in the region, we are delighted to extend our signature offering, which includes the 100% Hampton Guarantee, meaning that if a guest is not totally satisfied with their stay we don’t expect them to pay,” said Phil Cordell, global head, focused service brands.
Hampton by Hilton Volgograd Profsoyuznaya is located in the financial district of the city in close proximity to the main transport highways and within walking distance of the city’s largest shopping mall, Voroshilovsky. The city has a rich cultural history, and is also home to the floating church of St. Vladimir of Volgograd, one of only a few churches like this in the world.
Simon Vincent, president, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide, said, “Russia’s potential for tourism is being significantly boosted by the hosting of major events such as the Winter Olympics in 2014 and the FIFA World Cup in 2018. Following a marked increase in inbound tourism to Russia over recent years, we are delighted to be expanding our presence with the opening of a Hampton by Hilton hotel in Volgograd, one of the official host cities in 2018.”
Guests can explore the city using the unique local transport, as Volgograd is the only Russian city to boast an underground light railway, or Metrotram, voted one of the most interesting tram routes in the world by Forbes magazine because of its changing tunnels and lack of intersections.
Victor Zverev, president of Stoliya, the developer of Hampton by Hilton Volgograd Profsoyuznaya, said, “There has been significant and growing interest from the Volgograd business community and major international companies operating in the Russian market for this new hotel. We are confident the Hampton by Hilton hotel will be popular with international and domestic travelers looking for quality accommodation and meetings and events spaces in Volgograd, with its fantastic brand features and spacious conference hall designed for audience of up to 250 people.”
