Falcon Gold premium sees 35% growth, load factor up

Although its full results have yet to be announced, Gulf Air is pointing to “significant improvements” in its first-half performance compared to 2011. Specific figures will be released later, but the airline is already saying it posted a 6% increase in revenue for the first six months of 2012 and a 13% increase in passenger numbers year-on-year. The airline’s Falcon Gold premium class saw 35% growth. Load factor was up 5% to 77%.
As previously reported, Gulf Air has struggled in recent years especially following the hit to regional routes caused by the Arab Spring.
“This is by no means a small achievement considering factors such as the temporary suspension of eight profitable routes and high fuel prices that have had a negative impact on our traffic and revenue,” CEO Samer Majali said.
