Airline to up Bahrain-Copenhagen flights from four to five a week
Gulf Air has announced that it will increase flights between Bahrain and Copenhagen from four to five a week from March 3. The airline has been flying direct to CPH since July 1 last year with a 94-seat Boeing 737-700.
The decision is seen as part of an effort by Gulf Air to up its game on the route, against Middle Eastern rivals. Qatar Airways and Emirates offer daily flights to Copenhagen with significantly bigger aircraft – Qatar Airways with an Airbus A330 and 1,865 seats weekly in each direction between Doha and Copenhagen, and Emirates with a Boeing 777-200 and 2,030 seats a week to and from Dubai. Gulf Air has said previously that its plans for Copenhagen are ultimately for daily flights with a bigger Airbus A320.
