Thomas Cook’s Condor airline may go under the hammer
Rudolf Woehrl, a German investor, is interested in buying Condor, an airline that operates scheduled charter flights as part of the Thomas Cook Group, according to reports in Germany. Woehrl is reported to have made an unsuccessful €220 million bid for a 52% share of Air Berlin before the latter’s deal with Etihad. He says that Thomas Cook wants more than €300 million for this section of its business, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper writes.
Thomas Cook is continuing to look at ways to reduce its debt burden and has reportedly hired a bank in France to study its operations.
