Foodie tourism to rise in Bornholm


Bornholm restaurant rated among Europe finest
The peaceful Danish island of Bornholm is welcoming more foodies because of its star attraction, Kadeau Bornholm. Now the visitor figures will rise even further, as the restaurant has been placed high on a list of Europe’s top 200.
Opinionated About Dining is an influential survey based on registered reviews. Kadeau is mentioned on the list for the first time, coming in at 23rd – ahead of acclaimed Danish names like Geranium, which has just received its third Michelin star. Noma is the country’s highest placing, at number five. The full list can be seen here.
“It’s amazing and somewhat surprising,” restaurant manager Nicholas Nørregaard tells DR Nyheder. “We are in good company.”
Kadeau also has a restaurant in Copenhagen, which also made the top 200, but behind the Bornholm version.
“Many important people from the gastro world have visited Bornholm in the past year, and they have had such a good experience they have voted for us,” Nørregaard says. One reviewer calls its menu “a travelogue of Nordic cooking”.
