Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport to resume operations on March 2
Several months after severe flooding stopped commercial operations and submerged the runway at the Thai capital’s second airport, Don Mueang, it has been announced that it will officially reopen on March 2. A ceremony will be held on that day to officially mark the reopening and demonstrate the airport’s readiness for use.
It has already been announced that the Thai low-cost airline Nok Air, will resume flights at Don Mueang Airport from March 6, after five months of operating services to Suvarnabhumi Airport. Thai Airways’ new sub-brand carrier THAI Smile Air is expected to launch from Don Mueang, Thailand’s premier domestic and charter hub, on July 1.
