Rooms with access to geothermal waters via private terraces
Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon will get its first luxury hotel when the Moss Hotel and Lava Cove spa, complete with restaurant and private swimming hole, opens this autumn.
The 62-key hotel in the natural geothermal spa area will also feature a lounge and library, while the spa will have a steam room and sauna heated by lava rocks. There will be a private masseuse and an on-call chef.
Rooms will be furnished in the Scandinavian style with floor-to-ceiling windows and freestanding bathtubs overlooking the volcanic landscape. Rooms on the ground floor will have direct access to the geothermal waters via private terraces; the upper floors will have balconies.
The Blue Lagoon is as popular as it is spectacular, attracting over 700,000 visitors in 2014.
