Fire in Norway’s second longest tunnel, Gudvanga
Around 55 people have been taken to hospital following a fire in Norway’s second longest tunnel.
The fire broke out in the 11-kilometre Gudvanga Tunnel, which opened in 1991 and connects Gudvangen with the Undredalen valley near Nærøyfjord.
The first reports of the fire were received by Norway’s emergency services at around noon yesterday and it was extinguished by 1pm.
