Finnair to fly first A350 to London Heathrow

Crew training flight to take place in six months
Finnair will make the first commercial flight of a new aircraft type, the Airbus A350, to London Heathrow, in October.
The Finnish airline will use the “extra wide body” long-haul aircraft for crew training flights on certain departures to Helsinki, before putting it onto the Helsinki-Shanghai service, operating daily from October 25. Beijing will also get the A350 from November 21.
Finnair will receive the first four of 19 A350s by the end of the year. They will feature the latest business class cabin, a premium economy cabin and state-of-the-art entertainment systems.
Like the Boeing 787, the composite construction allows for larger windows and cleaner cabin air. All A350s will have wi-fi. The only other airline to currently operate the A350 is Qatar Airways, although Vietnam Airlines is also due to receive them this summer.
