Finnair stops selling tickets

Airline takes action under strike threat

Finnair is under pressure from the threat of strikes and has taken the step of stopping the sale of tickets for the first days of a possible upcoming strike.

No tickets can be purchased for Friday, Saturday or Sunday with Finnair. The airline has pulled out all of the tickets that were up for sale for these days in preparation for the possible strike, according to press reports.

If the disputes are not sorted out before Friday, cabin crew and ground staff will go on strike for at least one day, affecting most of the traffic operated by Finnair as well as SAS subsidiary Blue1.

The cause of the conflict is a savings program that the airline is trying to get into a collective agreement with unions.
