Finns deepen cooperation with regional airline
Finnair is covering new ground in Sweden by expanding its codeshare operation with Swedish regional airline BRA (Braathens Regional Airlines).
As of September 5, Finnair’s AY code will be added to sales for BRA’s routes between Stockholm Bromma Airport and Trollhättan, Visby, Kalmar, Rönneby, Angelholm/Helsingborg, Växjö, Sundsvall, Halmstad and åre/Östersund, for flights from September 15.
BRA’s code, meanwhile, will be added to the Umeå-Helsinki route, which BRA operates for Finnair.
Finnair says that the cooperation expands its reach in Sweden and connects these Swedish cities via Bromma to its entire network, offering new connections to Finnair customers.
Among other “smooth connections” via its Helsinki hub, there are links to 17 Asian cities and three North American destinations, as well as around 70 European destinations.
Revealing the news, Finnair’s chief commercial officer, Juha Järvinen, called Sweden “a key growth market for us”.
Earlier this year, Finnair and BRA began cooperating over their loyalty programs. Meanwhile, Finnair is also opening a new route to Västerås in central Sweden, in a codeshare with another Swedish regional carrier, NextJet.
