Finnair announces new summer routes

Four new short-haul routes for summer 2017 program
Finnair says it is adding four new short-haul routes to its summer 2017 traffic program, to Reykjavik, Corfu, Menorca and Ibiza, while at the same time boosting capacity to the UK and Ireland.
Between April 11 and October 28 next year, Finnair will fly four weekly flights to Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital. This will complement the carrier’s pre-existing codeshare on services operated by partner Icelandair. Once opened, Finnair says its route will “offer one of the fastest connections between Asia and Iceland”.
The airline will also fly weekly on Sundays to Corfu in Greece and Menorca in Spain, and between June 17 and August 12 it will also operate a new weekly flight to Ibiza in Spain on Saturdays.
Meanwhile, Finnair is also increasing capacity in the UK market for the summer 2017 season, continuing its Edinburgh route with five weekly flights and by flying the state-of-the-art A350 to and from London. It will also raise capacity to Dublin by operating a mix of A319s and E90s next summer.
