Finavia reorganises its operations

Finavia updates its organisation, making its operations more effective. The new organisation model of the company was discussed at the statutory labour procedure which ended on 21 June 2012.

The organisation of Finavia will be updated to provide maximum support to Finavia’s mission of being an effective, customer-oriented and profitable service company.

After the statutory labour procedure, Finavia has decided to reduce the number of staff by 26 due to production-related reasons and reasons related to the reorganisation of operations. The number of staff will decrease by an approximate total of 40 people through firing and other measures, such as retirement.

The reductions mainly concern clerical employees in the capital region.

When possible, Finavia will provide the dismissed people with new tasks and will support the relocation of the people in the labour market.

“We will do our best to support the employees subject to the reductions. Staff reductions are always unfortunate but there is no alternative for them in this situation in the rapidly changing operating environment of air traffic. Finavia has a narrow financial room for manoeuvre and we have to make our operations more effective so that we can continue to provide airlines and passengers with premium, cost-effective and safe services at our airports,” says Kari Savolainen, CEO of Finavia.
