Expedia launches mobile app for hoteliers


Online travel agency pushes further into hotel services
Expedia is pushing further into hotel services. It is following Booking.com’s lead into a range of business-to-business services for hoteliers by launching a new mobile app just for them, to better manage their listings on the site.
The Expedia PartnerCentral app, for iPhone and Android, helps hotel managers respond to guest feedback, even while the guests are still at the property.
Among other things, it also gives benchmark performance against competitors using MarketWatch, provides alerts and insights about events taking place in the industry, and promotes last-minute inventory through a program called Sell Tonight.
Management of rates and inventory is possible across all of Expedia Inc.’s core brands, including Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Travelocity and Wotif. Integration with Expedia’s latest brand Orbitz is also likely in the near future.
Initially the app is available for free download in North America, the UK and Australia and will be rolled out globally throughout the coming year.
