easyJet expands routes to Iceland

LCC to fly to Iceland from Manchester and Edinburgh

The UK-based low-cost carrier easyJet is expanding its presence in Iceland with two new twice-weekly routes from Manchester and Edinburgh to Reykjavik from March. The airline started flights to Iceland from the low-cost airport London Luton earlier this year, a route on which frequencies will increase from three to four flights a week in 2013.
“easyJet has carried almost 30,000 passengers between London and Reykjavik since its London Luton service to the city launched in March and we anticipate over 75,000 more passengers will take advantage of the […] flights from Manchester and Edinburgh next summer,” Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK director, said.
In related news, easyJet has revised its profit forecast upward for the year ended September 30. It expects to post £310 to £320 million (€385 to €398 million) pre-tax profit.
