PATA Chapters Interaction event scheduled for Helsinki
This year the Matka Nordic Travel Fair in Helsinki promises to be more international than ever, its organisers say, and special effort is being made to invite travel trade professionals from all over the world to visit Finland as well as the fair.
For example, flights are being provided by Finnair, while boat rides to Finland and Helsinki are being organised by the hosted buyers program Matka Boat, which will bring visitors from Sweden, Estonia and Latvia.
Described as the largest travel event in northern Europe, Matka will gather travel professionals and enthusiasts to Messukeskus in the Finnish capital on January 15-18. On display are the services and products of over 1,000 exhibitors from more than 80 countries. With nearly 70,000 visitors, it is one of the biggest events in Finland.
Helsinki is easily accessible from other northern European and Baltic countries as well as from Russia, making the number of potential visitors nearly 40 million, the organisers point out. For professionals, the Business Travel Forum offers a tailored program.
As Matka Nordic Travel Fair is a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association, new doors are open to the Asian travel market, bringing growth to the event. A PATA Chapters Interaction event is scheduled at the fair in January.
