Eurostar and Deutsche Bahn launch partnership

Passengers travelling by train between the UK and Germany can now buy through tickets at Eurostar.com.

A new partnership between Deutsche Bahn and Eurostar allows travellers to purchase tickets, for example, from the UK to destinations such as Bonn, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich, as well as to Aachen and Cologne, which were already offered by Eurostar and operator Thalys.

Passengers will start on one of nine daily Eurostar services to Brussels Midi station and from there change platform to connect to a high-speed ICE Deutsche Bahn train to Germany.

There is no seat reservation for the German leg of the journey, enabling travellers to spend time in Brussels between changing trains if they wish.

A single ticket starts at £49.50 (€60), to Aachen, Cologne, Bonn and Düsseldorf and from £79.50 to Frankfurt and from £97.50 to Munich.

A new direct service to Amsterdam has already been announced from the UK and is scheduled to begin in 2016.
