The Danish shipping liner consolidates its operations in the North Sea

Following the acquisition of Norfolk Line in 2010, DFDS was in possession of two ro-ro terminals in Rotterdam.
The DFDS Maasvlakte terminal developed as a break-bulk terminal, handling growing volumes of commodities such as steel, wood, bricks and project cargo. DFDS decided to sell this terminal to better concentrate on its core activities.
DFDS has transferred all its ro-ro freight activities in Vlaardingen, which is situated closer to the motorway network and also accommodates other activities.
The transportation company has sold its Maasvlakte terminal to the Rhenus Logistics Group for US$35m.The sale will have no effect on DFDS ro-ro and logistics operations in Rotterdam.
