Deutsche Hospitality bets on Egypt

Ex-Steigenberger bolsters Egypt portfolio of hotels
Boosting its portfolio of more than 115 properties, Deutsche Hospitality has brought two new members into its Egypt portfolio – the Cairo Pyramids Hotel in Gizeh and the Taba Hotel & Nelson Village.
Following extensive renovation works up until the close of 2017, both hotels will operate under the company’s well-known Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts brand.
With views of the Gizeh pyramids, the Cairo Pyramids Hotel has 304 guestrooms and facilities include six restaurants and two bars, a conference and wedding room, gym, two swimming pools and a range of shopping opportunities.
Situated at the northern end of the Sinai Peninsula, the Taba Hotel & Nelson Village offers its own beach, 401 rooms including 32 suites, a ballroom, conference room, four restaurants and three bars and cafés. Leisure facilities include two pools, three tennis courts, a massage centre, a shopping centre with 45 outlets and a casino.
“For many years, Egypt has been a good market for our Steigenberger hotel brand,” said Puneet Chhatwal, Deutsche Hospitality CEO. “As we believe in the attractiveness of the country as a holiday and business destination, we have recently expanded our presence in Egypt. Currently, we are operating 10 hotels and three cruise ships on the River Nile and Lake Nasser.”
