From the rooftops of Berlin and the hills of the Catskills, to the underground drinking dens of Seoul, join on a thirst-inducing quest to unearth the best hotel bars around the world. And yes, let’s make it a double.
With exoticism on the menu, Berlin’s own Hotel Zoo has two prime locales for imbibing, the open-air rooftop bar, and the Grace Bar tucked into the main floor. Over in the Gangnam district of Seoul, eyes will never grow sore, as the D.Bridge Colour Avenue bar at Glad Live changes its color story every season. Besides the mountain scenery at Scribner’s Catskill Lodge, the ‘Old Man Scribner’ cocktail should remedy any off-piste aches. And should the city of lights be calling, quench the call at Hotel Vernet where French Champagnes are served under fresco. The Gilt Lounge at QT Sydney serves up savory concoctions of pancetta and jalapeño, while Miss Clara by Nobis’ bar master in Stockholm also likes to push the boundaries with non-traditional ingredients and a whole fruit approach. When in Singapore, do away with the eponymous clichéd ‘sling’ and hit up the ‘Singapore Sazerac’ at The Warehouse Hotel for something more adventurous. And in La Paz, Bolivia, take to the sky high +591 Bar at Atix Hotel, and do as the well-heeled would do and order the ‘El Siete’.
