Agerskov Kro og Hotel is in southern Jutland
The family-owned Agerskov Kro og Hotel in southern Jutland has been voted Denmark’s best small hotel for the second time in a row.
Introduced in 2015, the Hotel of the Year award is made based on reviews by guests who stay at one of the 80 hotels that are part of the Small Danish Hotels association.
“We are obviously very honoured once again to receive the award, and it means a very great deal to us that guests have such a good experience when they visit us here in Agerskov,” said Peter Otte, the winning hotel’s owner.
Agerskov Kro og Hotel got its first licence from King Christian VII, in 1767. Siden Bodil and Peter Otte bought it in 1976, gradually renovating and extending it.
In other news, Copenhagen’s gourmet Michelin-star restaurant Kadeau, which uses produce grown on the island of Bornholm, is a ‘new entry’ in the 2017 World’s Best Restaurants list, ranked 94th. The list will be officially unveiled on April 5 at a ceremony in Melbourne, Australia.
