Delays continue after Delta power cut

Airport agents write out boarding passes by hand
Thousands of passengers around the world have been stranded after a disastrous power cut grounded the entire fleet of US airline Delta. Despite the resulting confusion, flights resumed six hours after the cut, but Delta warns of continuing delays due to the backlog of passengers.
The systems failure on Monday hit check-in systems, passenger advisory screens and Delta’s website and apps. Airport agents were forced to write out boarding passes by hand.
The power failure occurred in Atlanta, near the airline’s headquarters, causing computer systems to crash. Stranded passengers took to venting their frustration on social media, complaining at the lack of information.
Delta said that more than 740 flights were cancelled. It offered refunds and $200 (€180) vouchers and CEO Ed Bastian apologised in a video message.
